1.) DRAWING DEFINITION - A drawing is defined as an illustration or model of a single subject or object in a Vector format. A drawing can have multiple views of that single subject. A 3D model is not a drawing unless it is accompanied by 2D illustration with a border. Drawing subjects shall be limited to 3D -or- 2D Mechanical Objects and/or Electrical Schematics (Exceptions will be considered).
2.) DRAWING START - If the proposed project is of sufficient size work on the Drawing / Model / Project shall commence once the partial payment is received. A down payment of half (50%) is expected. Once drawings are completed, delivery is contingent on full or final payment. This will be noted on the purchase order.
3.) COST OF DRAWINGS AND MODELS - The cost of a Drawing and/or Model shall be determined one of 3 ways.
A.) Standard Per Drawing (Model) - ANSI A $40 / ANSI B $75. Portrait or Landscape - (UOM) Imperial or Metric will not affect the price. A standard Subject and/or Views shall not exceed the capacity of a single page. The capacity of any page is a judgment call made by Thick Lines. This price does not include gathering information for a drawing(Model) or drawing project.
B.) Standard Hourly rate of $40 per hour - Hours charged may be more or less than actual hours. An accounting of hourly progress can be provided (at no cost) at the end of the project provided it is requested at the start of the project.
C.) Project - A project is defined as a group of drawings (Drawing Set). The Project specifics shall be determined through negotiation as a result of the RFQ (Request For Quote). Thick Line CAD has the right to reject the RFQ or Project at any time for any reason. Should the negotiations be successful the customer is responsible to deliver a Purchase Order with a unique number in a timely manner.
4.) DRAWING (MODEL) SCALE - All Models and thus drawings shall have a scale of 1:1. This is regardless of UOM
(Inch or MM). The size of the subject on the drawings shall be such as to not compromise clarity of said subject. Should other elements be necessary on the drawing the size of the drawing shall be adjusted accordingly.
3.) DRAWING SIZE - Standard ANSI , sizes shall be used on all drawings. Special or non standard sizes are available at no cost if the proposed size is agreed upon at the start of the project and does not change. If the proposed size is requested or changed after the project starts there will be a $50 charge for each page. Please see the Drawing Page size Thick lines Web page.
5.) DRAWING FILE TYPES - Brics CAD standard output file types are DWG or PDF or JPG. Other formats are available at no charge if the required format is agreed upon at the start of the job. The DWG file type is not native to Autodesk products. It will work and/or function with Autodesk products but not be recognized by Autodesk applications as native.
6.) DRAWING HARD COPY - No hard copy (printed) drawings are offered or supplied. The customer is responsible for all hardcopy.
7.) DRAWING DUE DATE - The Customer shall agree to the Due Date in writing on the P.O. (Purchase Order) or FRQ. The Customer shall define what a “Complete” Drawing is. If the Customer wants to change the Due Date of Completion Criteria He or She can do so in writing via E-Mail. If a negotiated solution can not be agreed to then the Customer shall receive a full refund with no Drawing (Complete or Partial).
7a.) MILESTONES - Should milestones be required (by the agreed upon Purchase Order) they will be delivered electronically.
8.) ORDER FULFILLMENT –
A.) The customer tells me what they want, on the phone or in a written format ,either from Request For Quote(RFQ) or Email or Text. Sketches or photos or both will be accepted.
B.) I then confirm the intent or concept of the drawing with the customer via email and assign a Purchase Order Number,
if the customer has not already done so. Drawing specifics will be listed in the purchase order. Once the customer is in agreement to the specifics of the drawing(s), object(s) and the due date and the cost($) the project (Drawing) will be scheduled or started. If the cost of the project is substantial and the customer is a new customer then an invoice for half (½) the agreed on price will be sent to the customer via email. The invoice will have a link by which the customer can pay the half down payment on the Paypal website. Once this is paid the project will be scheduled or started.
C.) The project will be scheduled considering the other projects in process. The priority of the project is determined by the workload at that time. Should the customer want to pay an expedite fee it will be discussed and included in the Purchase Order. Due to unforeseen events the priorities may change. Thick Lines and the customer will be in communication as to the urgency of the situation. I will work on the drawing as I get time. If there is a question I may have to stop work on the drawing until the question is answered. If the customer is unavailable to answer the question I will complete everything I can on the drawing until the customer is available to answer the question.
D.) When ready I will send the customer a preliminary drawing. The preliminary drawing will have watermarks or text that is very light gray on the face of the drawing. This is to prevent copying or counterfeiting. Once the preliminary drawing (or model drawing) is approved (In writing) I will send the customer an invoice with a link to Paypal.
E.) The customer clicks (or taps) on the link, and pays the bill privately and confidentially on Paypal. Any problems with Paypal are between the customer and Paypal.
F.) I then email the customer with the Receipt and COMPLETED project files attached to the E-Mail. Should the file size of the completed project prevent emailing A mutually acceptable drop box will be used. Copies of all work will be archived for approximately 6 months.
